Step 1:   Gently open the package containing your oyster.

Step 2:   Rinse the oyster in fresh water to remove any debris.

Step 3:   Insert an oyster knife into the shell of the oyster near the hinge.

Step 4:   Carefully work your oyster knife arond the oyster shell towards the other side of the hinge.

Step 5:   Separate the two shells of the oyster.

Step 6:   Carefully slide your knife between the oyster and it's upper shell to separate the muscle from the shell.

Step 7:   Gently press on the oyster to locate your Akoya pearl.

Step 8:   Rinse your pearl in clean water and softly buff it with salt.  Then clean it with a soft damp cloth.

Step 9:   Rub the pearl between your palms, allowing essential oils to add luster and shine to your pearl.

Step 10: Place the pearl in your pendent and secure the pendent on a chain or ribbon.
